GREENFIELD — The town is joining a class-action lawsuit against three major pharmaceutical companies in an attempt to recoup costs associated with a spike in drug overdoses in recent years, according to Mayor William Martin.
The lawsuit names three companies, identified as “the big three,” as defendants: McKesson Corp., Cardinal Health, and AmerisourceBergen.
The lawsuit was filed by Levin Papantonio of Pensacola, Florida, and the Sweeney Merrigan Law firm, which has offices in Boston and Greenfield.
